About us

The LifeStyled Club community began as a result of the vision and initiative of Helen Drury and Maggie Devine-Inman, whose husbands started their professional football careers together.

Recognising the challenges faced by footballers and their families, they co-founded this exclusive members-only community to provide support to the wives and partners of current and former professional footballers.

As wives of former professional footballers, we have firsthand experience and insight into the challenges and sacrifices that come with the football lifestyle, regardless of what league your partner plays in. Creating an empowering safe space for individuals to connect and share their experiences is incredibly valuable. It allows members to find support, understanding, and access to resources that can make a difference in their lives.

Our mission

The mission of LifeStyled Club is to address the unique challenges faced by the partners of professional footballers throughout their careers and beyond. While wives & partners are recognised as part of a player’s “team”, there has traditionally been a lack of support and guidance for them in managing the various ups and downs that come with being involved in the football world. LifeStyled Club aims to change this by providing support, resources, and guidance to partners “at home” as they navigate the distinct challenges that arise during a player’s career and even after they retire from the game.

“The aim was to create a safe space where these individuals could discuss their experiences, raise awareness about the issues they face, and seek help when needed.”

About LifeStyled Club

The LifeStyled Club platform provides an inclusive safe environment where wives and partners throughout the professional leagues can access valuable information and support. Its aim is to help members and their football partners achieve their full potential and lead happy and fulfilling family lives. Mental health is a key focus for LifeStyled Club, as it recognises the importance of advocating for the well-being of individuals involved in football.

The community addresses common mental health issues, the dynamics of life in football, cultural changes, and the necessary planning for a positive transition beyond the game. With the support and guidance of its members and industry experts, LifeStyled Club strives to promote mental health awareness and ensure that individuals in the football community, throughout the professional leagues, receive the support they need to thrive both during their careers and in life after football.

The partner of a player

The partner of a player plays a crucial role in the overall well-being of the athlete, which can greatly impact their performance on the field. Wives and partners often serve as a trusted support system, and their close connection with the player enables them to notice potential issues or problems early on, even before they are recognised or addressed within the club. Their unique perspective and intimate knowledge of the player’s daily life allow them to provide valuable insights and emotional support. They can offer guidance, help manage stressors, and offer a listening ear during both the highs and lows of a player’s career. Their observations and proactive involvement can contribute significantly to the player’s overall well-being and success.

“My wife, she’s the most important person in my life. She sacrificed everything to move away with me when she was 19 years old, to help me follow my dream. We’ve been on this journey together.”

Kevin de Bruyne, The Players’ Tribune
